More changes to British line of succession

There's another new baby on the block and that means another change to the line of succession.  And the little person who arrived in America this morning and who has little to no chance of ever being monarch of the United Kingdom could be about to claim their own little piece of royal history. Lord Frederick Windsor, son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, is now a father after his wife gave birth to a little girl.  She's the first girl born in the near reaches of the royal family since the law was changed to allow girls to take precedence over younger brothers.  So if this little girl does find a baby boy joining her in the future, she'll still retain her place in the line of succession.

Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor are now parents to a baby girl

Which is a very long way from ever being queen.  The little honourable doesn't have a name yet - that will be announced in the next few days.  But she is 42nd in line for the crown - not quite such a shoo in for a royal title as that distant cousin of hers, Prince George of Cambridge, who arrived with a three week head start.  She may be the great, great, great, great granddaughter of Queen Victoria while George is her great, great, great, great, great grandson but as he descends from the senior line of the family, the throne is his while this latest Windsor woman will have to find her own way in the world.

New parents -Freddie and Sophie - have yet to announce their baby daughter's name.  She will be given the title 'The Honourable' in front of it and her surname will be Windsor

But with two working parents she'll have plenty of career options to study in the years to come.  Lord Frederick Windsor married Sophie Winkleman at Hampton Court in September 2009 when she became The Lady Frederick Windsor.  He works in finance in Los Angeles while his wife is an actress and best known as 'Big Suze' in Channel Four's comedy Peep Show.
