Royals in Sochi, day three

The royal contingent in Sochi is changing all the time.  Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway has now arrived for a four day stay and made his way straight to a session of curling to cheer on his home team.

Prince Albert of Monaco has left the Games for now after attending the opening ceremony and several events as well as fringe meetings of the International Olympic Committee.  Princess Anne is still in Russia but has engagements away from the Winter Games over the coming days.  She was snapped in a rather empty set of seats with her husband, Tim Laurence, and the king and queen of the Netherlands on February 10th 2014.

And it's Willem-Alexander and Maxima who continue to provide the best royal images of Sochi 2014 so far.  In fact, the Dutch queen is miles ahead of her nearest rival.  After offering us bicycling in orange at the start of the games, Maxima has now found a rather fetching knitted hat to add to the set.

And Willem-Alexander has claimed first glories in presenting gold medals to home grown winners when he awarded the top honours to Sven Kramer who had just claimed a second, consecutive Olympic win in the 5000 metres speed skating.  He also handed out a bronze medal to fellow countryman Jorrit Bergsma in the same event.
