Harry's heartfelt search

You could almost hear the stampede start as soon as the words were uttered. Prince Harry wants to settle down and have children and longs to have a princess of his own at his side to share the spotlight of royal duties. Cue a million offers from around the world to end Harry's heartfelt search.

The prince was speaking to Sky News during his tour of New Zealand and in one of his most revealing interviews ever this very private prince made public his innermost thoughts. "There come times when you think now is the time to settle down, or now is not, whatever way it is, but I don't think you can force these things it will happen when it's going to happen'' said Harry before opening up even more. ''Of course, I would love to have kids right now, but there's a process that one has to go through.''

As if that wasn't enough, Harry got even more up close and personal as he talked about his time in New Zealand telling Sky "Hopefully I'm doing all right by myself. It would be great to have someone else next to me to share the pressure. But, you know, time will come and whatever happens, happens."

Harry's interview came just a couple of days into his week in New Zealand. Over the last 24 hours he has been on remote Stewart Island where he spent time at the primary school being grilled by the children there, enjoying music lessons with them and making paper crowns.

It's also not long after he finished his four week attachment with the Australian Defence Force. He will return to the UK on May 16th and just weeks after that he will end his active military service after a decade which has seen him go to Afghanistan twice as well as launch the Invictus Games to huge acclaim and success.

And he spoke of what life held in store for him when he left the job he has known all his adult life saying he was at a crossroads and that he felt he wanted to take on more royal duties and that wouldn't give him the time he wanted to commit to his military career. The prince said he was mulling over some options before commenting "There's a few things on the shortlist. But I don't want to speculate because I know what people are like.'' And he made it very clear that whatever he did, it would be paid work becauseearning a wage  and having a normal job was vital.

And as just about every royal story this month must, things got round to Princess Charlotte with Harry sharing the news that he had been sent a photo of his new niece before the rest of the world saw her and then a special picture later of her with big brother, George. And he said he couldn't wait to meet her.

But it's his insistence that he wants to head into the sunset with a wife and children of his own that will have really got people excited. Captain Wales is starting a new adventure and it looks like, if he gets his wish, it might be a very personal as well as a very public one very soon.
