The Queen's traditional Christmas lunch for her family is taking place at Buckingham Palace
The season of royal Christmas traditions is upon us and just before that moment that signifies the start of the festive break - the photo of the Queen getting off the train as she arrives at Sandringham - we had another annual staging post in the count down to the sparkliest day of the year. No photos of the Queen this time round as she and Prince Philip waited inside Buckingham Palace for their family to join them at the traditional pre Christmas lunch and plenty of photos of everyone else driving in, pretending they hadn't noticed the cameras.
