The Royal 2018: January's crop of Capricorns


After all that Christmas feasting, don't think you're out of the party woods yet. January is a bumper month for royal birthdays with kings, queens, consorts and heirs packing out the month with celebrations. If you get a day off from all this anniversary cake and candles, count yourself lucky. To keep it manageable, this year's birthdays are served in two parts with a little help from the signs of the zodiac. Here come the royal birthday girls and boys for January born as Capricorns.....

Royal story in a sentence Juan Carlos Alfonso Victor Maria  was born on January 5th 1938 in Rome and ruled Spain between 1975 and 2014 before abdicating

Most likely to....keep things low key. Spain is in political turmoil and the House of Bourbon is still struggling to regain anything like the popularity it enjoyed in the 80s and 90s. Partying behind closed doors for this milestone.

Royal story in a sentence Jean BenoĆ®t Guillaume Robert Antoine Louis Marie Adolphe Marc d'Aviano was born on January 5th 1921 in Luxembourg and was Grand Duke between 1964 and 2000 when he abdicated.

Most likely to....surprise us all with a cracking royal party - when he turned 95, a huge regal turnout celebrated with him.

Most likely to Get lots of media attention even though we rarely see Kate on her birthday
